Hey guys! Now that’s it’s summer, my skin has become way more oily and sweaty (SO much mascne D: and mask sweat). Luckily there are a few products that have really pulled through and helped me control most of it! Best of all, they’re all super affordable! Although these products aren’t like an antiperspirant, they do help fight bacteria and other gross things that cling to your skin in the summer.
- HEIMISH ALL CLEAN BALM

I feel like I’ve talked about oil cleansers SO often, but with all the oil piling up in the summer, I feel like it’s pivotal to keeping the skin balanced. After experimenting a little bit, I’ve found that I like balm cleansers WAY more than liquid oil cleansers when it comes to digging out all the excess oil. Although liquid oil cleansers feel a little more sanitary and convenient, nothing beats washing your face with a balm cleanser after a long day and feeling all of the gunk come out of your pores—truly, a religious experience. I’ve really enjoyed The Heimish All Clean Balm. It’s just so affordable, and it doesn’t burn my eyes like a lot of other cleansers. Read my in depth review here !
2. NEOGEN GREEN TEA REAL FRESH FOAM CLEANSER

For my second cleanser, I’ve really been feeling Neogen’s Green Tea Real Fresh Foam Cleanser. It might be a little stripping for people with dry or sensitive skin, but for my oily summer skin, it’s perfect. I probably wouldn’t use this in the winter but she calms and cleans the after effects of a run in the 90 degree Chicago heat, which is all I could really ask for. The smell of the Green Tea is so refreshing, and the foam creates such a convenient and luxurious experience, I look forward to using this one every morning now. Read my in depth review here!
3. SOME BY MI AHA-BHA-PHA 30 DAYS MIRACLE TONER

Starting with a toner, I’ve really enjoyed the Some By Mi AHA-BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner. I love how watery it is, and I also enjoy the cooling tea tree oil scent. Best of all, it has AHA, BHA, and PHA, to gently and continuously clean the skin. This ultimately helps prevent bacteria and other pore cloggers from getting too deep in the skin and causing acne! 4. THE ORDINARY NIACINAMIDE 10% + ZINC 1%

Right after I tone, I immediately use A DROP of The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I’ve found that using a drop (and nothing more) tones down my sebum production immensely. I have no idea why it doesn’t work as well if I use too much, but hey, I’m not complaining if it’s keeping my wallet a little fuller. It even helps tone down my sweat a tiny bit (although if I sweat too much and it comes off, it’s back to looking like I jumped out of 2017 to do the ALS water bucket challenge. 5. THE VEGAN GLOW GOOD MORNING MOISTURIZER AND THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE OIL

For a light moisturizer, I have actually really enjoyed using my Good Morning moisturizer from The Vegan Glow. It’s super light, so I’ll also mix some of The Body Shop tea tree oil into it for a really nice cooling effect. I also love how calm the tea tree oil makes my skin feel. I typically use it both morning and night because I’ve found that it’s the perfect thickness for both. It’s got a super simple no-frills ingredient list that is gentle and makes me feel good about putting it on, even when the humidity is telling me no. Read my in depth review here!
