Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner

Hey guys, I’ve been seeing this toner everywhere, and after I finished using my Benton Aloe BHA Toner, I decided to try this next. I noticed this toner was a little smaller than my Benton and slightly more expensive per ounce, but it has AHA, BHA, PHA, Niacinamides, and more, so I really wanted to give it a spin.

Claims: On SokoGlam’s website

“A cult favorite, one bottle of this multi-tasking toner is sold every three seconds! As its name suggests, the formula boasts three types of chemical exfoliants (AHAs, BHAs, and PHAs) plus papaya and witch hazel extracts to effectively boost cell turnover and keep skin smooth and healthy. A high concentration of tea tree water extract also promotes clear skin, as well as soothes inflammation, while adenosine and niacinamide target wrinkles and a dull skin tone. Despite its powerful ingredients, the toner is dermatologically tested for sensitive skin and has an optimal pH of 5.5.”

When I read this description, I was instantly interested. When I look for a toner, I need to have some gentle chemical exfoliation and this one has so many different kinds in one product. The addition of tea tree water, adenosine, and niacinamide are also incredible. Then to top it off, it has an optimal pH of 5.5? I wanted to put ten in my cart immediately.

Ingredients:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Swiftlet Nest Extract,Sodium Hyaluronate, Fructan, Allantoin, Adenosine, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Xylitol, Salicylic Acid, Lactobionic Acid, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate,1,2-Hexanediol, Benzyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Raspberry Ketone, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil

So the key ingredients here are Niacinamide, which helps fight wrinkles and fine lines, Tea Tree Leaf Water, which is great for calming acne prone skin, Papaya Fruit Extract, which helps gently exfoliate, Witch Hazel Extract, which shrinks pores and soothes skin, sodium hyaluronate, which is like a better version of hyaluronic acid, Adenosine, which is another ingredient to fight fine lines, Salicylic Acid, which is a BHA and helps acne prone skin, and finally Citric Acid, which is a form of AHA and gently buffs the surface of the skin. Not a single ingredient on here is bad for the skin, and there’s no artifical fragrance. *Cue angel sounds.* The product’s scent comes primarily from the peppermint oil. I know I’ve talked a lot of trash about essential oils, but peppermint oil can be great for calming acne prone skin. Even the Raspberry Ketone, which is also used for its scent, helps increase skin elasticity. The ingredient list is short, but truly effective and incredible.

Price: 5.07 oz or 150 mL

SokoGlam: $16 (Free shipping on orders over $35)

Amazon: $14.90 (Free shipping on orders over $25)

Walmart: $15 (Free shipping on orders over $35)

Yesstyle: $15.96 (Free shipping on US orders over $35)

The price isn’t relatively expensive, but the bottle is just a little smaller than I expected, which may be due to the fact that I have no sense of measurement, but I’m hoping they come out with a jumbo size with a slightly cheaper price per oz.

Very runny

The Run-Down:

My mom and I’ve been using this toner for a few weeks, and the ultimate conclusion is that we love it. The texture is super watery and it absorbs very quickly without any sticky feeling. The overall smell and sensory experience is really pleasant too. In terms of effects, I definitely notice a difference when I stop using this, because my skin is not as smooth and the pores on my nose are slightly bigger. The toner doesn’t have much of an effect on my hormonal acne, but it definitely hasn’t broken me out. To be honest, I’m not sure what else to say about this product because it’s pretty much perfect. I guess the only thing that could make it better would be to have some incredibly crazy high quality ingredients in there like fermented essence or have the price point be at $1 a bottle. At this price point though, this will be one of the best products you can have.

Pros and Cons:

PROS

  • Incredible ingredients
  • Fights acne
  • Lessens wrinkles and fine lines
  • Optimal pH level
  • Great price point for quality

CONS

  • Just in case you are sensitive to peppermint oil

Who Should Use:

Literally everyone. No joke, from sensitive dry skin to oily or combination, this is a great toner for daily exfoliation. If you’re looking for mature skincare on a budget, this would be fantastic too, with all the niacinamide and adenosine.

That’s right. You heard it here. I will say, don’t expect your skin to be transformed and your life to be turned around. This 5/5 stars is because this product just has an incredible and very clean ingredient list and does exactly what it needs to do with all the right benefits. It’s officially a holy grail.

  1. I’d been super worried that it was going to be one of those overhyped products, plus I felt a bit iffy about the fact that it contains menthol/peppermint oil (?). I was worried it was going to send my skin into freak out mode. Thank goodness no irritation so far!

Only just started using it so it’s early days but so far, like you, I really like it as well!!
