As a competitive swimmer, I can say that my hair is damaged. A daily two hour soaking in a combination of chlorine and bleach isn’t exactly the best for hair. During preseason, it turns into four hours. So when I choose a conditioner, I either go for quality or quantity. This conditioner has been one of my favorites for a while now, but this year, it stood the test of time and bested out a lot of competition. If you couldn’t tell by the pictures, this year’s 2019 Best Conditioner is the Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Conditioner!
Claims:
On Garnier’s website they claim,
“Honey Treasures Repairing Conditioner heals hair and repairs damage of dry, damaged hair*. This blend is crafted with honey, propolis & royal jelly extracts in a lush and creamy formula that brings to life our wholesome care. Paraben-free and gentle enough for everyday use.”
Honey, propolis, and royal jelly extracts are great for many things. Not only are they antibacterial and antifungal, they heal acne, and moisturize. What else can you ask for?

The ingredients of both are pretty similar (as expected). The key ingredients I see in both are the Honey, the Royal Jelly, Argan Oil, Aloe Vera, Benzyl Alcohol and fragrance. Although these conditioners don’t contain parabens, and I love everything up until the Benzyl Alcohol, I’m mildly disappointed in the strong use of fragrance and alcohol in the conditioners, although they are very common. Perhaps in 2020, I will try to incorporate more natural ingredients into my hair care as well.

The Run-Down:
I’m going to have to come clean and tell you guys that the smell is 50% of the reason I bought this. It smells so good. I’m not usually one to be hooked my sweet, vanilla scents, but this one has a kind of addictive depth, and I can’t stop using it. In terms of effectiveness, both are incredibly effective at treating my dry ends. My hair has gotten pretty long which means that the dead ends have been dead for a very long time. Using either or (sometimes both) the conditioner and the mask revive my hair in no time. To use the mask, simply apply a generous amount to the tips of your hair when showering and let it sit for three minutes. Then, rinse off to reveal silky smooth hair! The conditioner can be used as a mask as well because of how moisturizing it is, but the mask is definitely more effective if your hair truly needs some therapy.

Who Should Use:
Anyone with dry tips. I really do love this conditioner and it’s going to take some serious willlpower to try some new conditioners this year. Still, I will be trying to go more natural with the hair care.

Super effective and it does what it needs to do while smelling incredible. I just wish someone could explain to me what the purpose of the salycilate and the Benzyl alcohol is and if it’s harmful. I know the Benzyl alcohol isn’t good for the scalp, but the conditioner is only going on the tips? Leave a comment below if you know!
