Best Water Cleanser 2019: Neogen Real Fresh Foam Green Tea

This year we went through a lot of cleansers. From Tatcha to Cosrx, with Drunk Elephant and even USANA, there were a lot of pollutants and sebum that were washed away. Yet none of them beat both the price point, and the experience of the Neogen Real Fresh Foam Green Tea Cleanser.

Claims:

On SokoGlam they say,

As someone with acne prone skin, I really appreciate the calming effects of the green tea extracts.

Yeah, okay, so it’s a lot. But luckily for you, I have read through every single extract on this ingredient list and let me tell you, it’s incredible. This cleanser truly is a concoction of antioxidants, unique ingredients, and green tea leaf extract. While the ingredient list is long, my analysis is short. This cleanser was thoughtfully formulated to calm skin with an intensely high concentration of green tea extract (Camellia Sinesis Leaf Water or the first ingredient in the ingredients list). There is no BS here.

The Run-Down:

If you can’t tell from the title already, I love this cleanser. Although it is not as moisturizing as Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser or Tatcha’s Water Cleanser, it is extremely calming and way cheaper. Plus, after I add my toner, the slight dryness is completely gone. Compared to the Cosrx Good Morning Low pH Cleanser, this cleanser is a little more balancing and it’s exactly what my oily/combination skin needs. I personally love a good foam, and the fact that the cleanser makes the foam for you is both more convenient and less irritating to the skin. When I use this in conjunction with my Clarisonic, my skin is smooth and ever so silky afterwards. (I’m sure if you have a Foreo it would give you the same if not better results). Truly, I love waking up to the sensation and the scent of this cleanser, and I love using it as I unwind and go to sleep just as much.

Pros and Cons:

PROS

• Budget friendly
• Incredible ingredient list

• Calming
• Reduces sebum
• Low pH

CONS

• Might be a teensy bit drying for dry skin (but should be no problem if you moisturize after)

Who Should Use:

I would wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone who struggles with acne and sebum production. It’s fantastic at taking off all that sebum that’s clogging your pores and giving you acne. For my dry-skinned friends, I still believe this is great at calming the skin, but with the foaming stimulation I would definitely make sure to moisturize after.

It looks a little bit funky, but that’s because Apple doesn’t have half star emojis 😦

I really do love this cleanser, and at this point I would consider it part of my holy grail. The only thing that holds me back is the ever so slight squeaky feeling I get, but it really is gone when I use my toner so it doesn’t affect my love for this cleanser.
